Come and join us to savor authentic Mediterranean cuisine at Fill-A-Pita on 19th March, 11am. Though food from the Middle Eastern is most famous for its’ kebabs and shawermas (meat centric dishes), as well as falafel and hummus, there are many vegetarian options as well.

Fill-A-Pita is a fairly recent addition to the vegetarian scene in Singapore.  They opened in April 2013, serve all-vegetarian Middle Eastern Food (more on that below) and have a strong eco-friendly sensibility.

Additionally, they also try to be as healthy as possible: (a.) Everything is made on-site except for the wholemeal pita (that is delivered to our shop at 11:30 AM daily), (b.) canned ingredients and preservatives are avoided as much as possible, (c) less additives are used such as lesser salt, no msg, and less brown sugar in drinks.

This meet-up will also present a special opportunity to learn about Mediterranean cuisine. The owner, Hassan El Nahas, will be bringing us through a journey with stories about food and his experiences, while we feast on a tailored platter!

Not only is the food tasty, but it’s good for the environment and to animal welfare.
This tailored platter will consist of:
1.) falafel (chickpeas blended with herbs and spices and baked to a crispy exterior).

2.) fava bean (a cooked bean dish with a tomato sauce)

3.) hummus (a dip made of mashed chickpeas in choice of two flavors, coriander or parsley)

4.) cold lentil salad (brown lentils with chopped onion and green pepper in a vinagrette dressing)
The above comes with free-flow of warm (wholemeal) pita bread.  Fill-A-Pita will also provide tahina (white sesame) sauce and a special in-house chili sauce for those who like their food spicy.

They decided to move to their current location at 01-29 Nankin Row (by China Square Central – just off China Street) late in 2015.

Cost / Payment Options :
– $10 per person (usual price is $12).

– Drinks are at additional cost of $3 pp (vs $3.50 or $4 usual price).  However, they do offer free water on the premises and you can also bring your own drinks from outside.
