Seeking happiness is popular these days, as a visit to any bookshop (brick & mortar or online) will show. In 2015, VSS cooperated with Eight Treasures Vegetarian Restaurant on a dinner, film showing and discussion about happiness. Now, we have found a new film on happiness; so, we’re returning to Eight Treasures for another great meal and a showing of this new documentary: Pursuing Happiness, to be followed a short Powerpoint presentation and concluding with small group discussions.

The film, Pursing Happiness, started as an online quest to find the happiest people in America. The resulting film consists of stories about some of theose people’s lives interspersed with insights from professors who study happiness. We edited the documentary from about 90 minutes to about 45 minutes, to capture what we feel are the best stories and insights.

After the film, we will present a 10 minute Powerpoint that provides background on components of happiness based on the work of noted scholars in the field of Positive Psychology. The Powerpoint also explores how a vegetarian diet can make us happier.

The highlight of the evening will be your chance, along with a partner, to do some activities, which can help to rewire your mind for a happier 2018 and beyond! These activities have been enjoyed by 100s of local teachers.
