Talk about Vegan Food at Indian Vegetarian Eateries

A VSS event

There is no need to register for this event: just attend if you wish.

Date: Tuesday, 14th March 2017
Time: 7.30pm to 9.30pm
Meeting point: Saravana Bhavan (Level 2),
84 Syed Alwi Rd, Singapore 207663

Demand for vegan food is increasing, and Indian vegetarian restaurants are responding. For example, please notice the indications of vegan dishes on the Raj Restaurant menu: http://www.rajrestaurant.com.sg/rajmenu.pdf. Other restaurants, including Saravanaa Bhavan, Ananda Bhavan and Komala’s Fusion Restaurant, plan to follow suit. Let’s find out what’s going on and discuss what we can do to further this trend.

But first, let’s eat starting at 7.30pm. Saravanaa Bhavan is offering us a 10% discount for this event. Each person will pay for their own food.
After eating, we’ll hear from and have Q & A with Mr Sriram R., Director of Saravanaa Bhavan. He will speak about his restaurant’s plans.

Then, we’ll hear from Mr Shashwat Gupta of Vegetarian Society (Singapore) about VSS’s investigation of the topic and have discussion among ourselves about how to move forward with restaurants and hawker stalls.
