Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Singapore Vegetarian Meetup!

Believe it or not, 2017 is the 10th anniversary of our Singapore Vegetarian Meetup (SVM) group. Since the date we were founded, 29 Aug, 2007, we’ve organised almost 300 meetups, and we’re still going strong, with more than 4700 members. What a testimony to the growth of vegetarianism!

Over the years, we’ve had all kinds of events, but not surprisingly, the most common SVM event is getting together to enjoy vegetarian food. So, let’s do that again to celebrate our anniversary. And, what better place to celebrate than at one of our favourite meet up spots: Eight Treasures, which since SVM’s founding has given birth to an offspring, Well Dressed Salad Bar.

3pm – Registration on L3 of Eight Treasures

3.15 – Opening remarks by SVM leaders over the past 10 years: Joe Goh, Neil Madhvani, Mark Soh and George Jacobs

3.30 – High tea begins: you can order anything from the extensive menus of Eight Treasures and Well Dressed

4.30 – Panel discussion on running a vegetarian restaurant in SG. Panellists include Sophia Teh, New Green Pastures; Suresh Krishnan, Annalakshmi; Ann Lee, Veganburg; and Zenna Ho, Eight Treasures / Well Dressed Salad Bar. Q&A follows the panel.

5.30 – Event concludes.

Payment: To secure your place, you need to pay $10 to Eight Treasures in advance, by credit card or bank transfer. The $10 counts towards the food and beverages you order during the high tea. On the day of the event, each person will order whatever they wish and be responsible for payment. Ten percent of sales goes to Vegetarian Society (Singapore), a registered charity that inspires people to make healthy, green and compassionate choices.
