A Helping Paw: Animals in Therapy by Dr. Bridget McConnell
(Lecturer, Psychology, JCU Singapore)
Dr. McConnell will present research about how animals are used in therapy for treating a range of disorders for a diverse group of people. She will discuss the benefits that have been reported and the shortcomings in the research. Dr. McConnell will finish by offering possibilities for where the research can go to further validate animal-assisted therapy as a therapeutic treatment.
