When Trump pulled the US out of the Paris Climate Change Accord, it shattered the illusion that the climate change debate was over and all hands were on deck to bail out the human species. In reality, many in America, and indeed across the world, argue that climate change is a hoax. Some say that climate change is not real, while others argue that it is not caused by humans.
Even among climate change “believers”, the debate rages on over who, when and how should climate change be tackled. Should developed countries have to atone for their past emissions? Should developing countries be allowed to pollute first to feed their citizens? Is technology enough to save us or are systemic changes required?
Join us at Mother Earth Toastmasters Club on 16 Aug 2017, as we debate about climate change during the table topics section. Observe and learn from different speakers on how they voice their views. And if you’re up for it, grab the chance to take the floor and speak!
Please feel free to bring guests along or invite friends you know. There is a small fee of $10 per adult or $5 per student to help cover our (very delicious, homemade and sustainably managed) food costs.
